Coral Conservation
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, SBTS proudly supports the Future and Coral Project, a marine conservation initiative led by SoftBank Corp. in partnership with Onna Village in Okinawa, Japan.
The project focuses on the protection and regeneration of coral reefs, which are critical to global biodiversity, climate resilience, and the well-being of coastal communities.
Through structured sponsorship and community engagement, SBTS contributes to activities that promote ocean health, environmental awareness, and sustainable development. This includes funding local conservation work, supporting public education efforts, and reinforcing the importance of biodiversity as part of our broader ESG strategy.
By participating in the Future and Coral Project, SBTS is helping bridge the gap between innovation and environmental responsibility, protecting one of the planet’s most vulnerable ecosystems while strengthening the connection between technology, business, and nature.
Our Team in the Field: Coral Day 2026
In March 2026, four members of the SBTS team joined Coral Day in Onna Village alongside 250 participants from sponsoring companies, local volunteers, and SoftBank staff. Over two days, the team took part in stakeholder meetings, coral observation in the sea, coral seedling planting preparation, and a Green Clean activity along the coast.
Witnessing the effects of rising sea temperatures on coral firsthand, and the resilience of the reefs being actively restored, brought the work of this project into sharp focus. Conservation isn’t abstract when you’re standing in it.
